THE CITY OF 8 <br /> "° CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pL£ASANTON <br /> July 16, 2019 <br /> Engineering <br /> TITLE: APPROVE A PURCHASE ORDER WITH MIRACLE PLAYSYSTEMS IN <br /> THE AMOUNT OF $327,560 TO RENOVATE THE BIG SLIDE AT MISSION <br /> HILLS NEIGHBORHOOD PARK <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The City of Pleasanton is renovating the existing slide at Mission Hills Park as part of <br /> the City's routine maintenance program. The project was advertised, and consultants <br /> were chosen based on their qualification package and interviews. Conceptual designs <br /> were presented during public outreach conducted on December 15, 2018, at the site. <br /> Comments received during the outreach process were included in a presentation to the <br /> Parks and Recreation Commission on January 10, 2019. The Parks and Recreation <br /> Commission recommended approval of design for a double slide with a synthetic turf <br /> and handhold scramble on the side. The purchase order in the amount of $327,560 for <br /> the play equipment from Miracle Playsystems (Miracle) reflects the recommendation of <br /> the Parks and Recreation Commission. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Approve a purchase order with Miracle in the amount of $327,560. <br /> 2. Authorize the use of $327,560 from CIP No. 20745, Annual Playground <br /> Renovations. <br /> 3. Authorize the City Manager to execute the purchase order with Miracle for the <br /> amount of $327,560. <br /> 4. Authorize the Director of Engineering to approve and execute purchase order <br /> amendments up to a contingency amount of 10 percent for a total of $32,756. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Funding in the amount of $360,316 (purchase order plus contingency) is budgeted and <br /> available from CIP No. 20745, for the procurement and installation of the playground <br /> apparatus. <br />
