IN THE AMOUNT <br /> OF $1,170,000 FOR THE SOFTBALL FIELDHOUSE AND <br /> SCOREKEEPER'S BOOTH RENOVATION PROJECT, CIP NO. 17746; <br /> AND REVIEW AND AWARD AN ARCHITECT CONTRACT TO ATI-AC <br /> MARTIN FOR THE NOT-TO-EXCEED AMOUNT OF $86,450 FOR <br /> ADDITIONAL DESIGN SERVICES AND CONSTRUCTION SUPPORT <br /> SERVICES <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The subject project consists of renovating the approximately 3,800 square-foot softball <br /> fieldhouse and the four scorekeeper's booths at the softball complex in the Ken Mercer <br /> Sports Park. The project was designed by ATI Architects and Engineers (now ATI-AC <br /> Martin). The project was competitively bid. Four bidders submitted bids, with the lowest <br /> responsive and responsible bid from JPB Designs, Inc. in the amount of $1,170,000. <br /> Staff is recommending award of the construction contract to the low bidder. Staff is also <br /> recommending award of a contract to Project Architect ATI-AC Martin for additional <br /> design services and construction support services in the amount of $86,450. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Approve the plans and specifications for this project. <br /> 2. Review the bids received and award the construction contract for the project to JPB <br /> Designs, Inc. of Orangevale, California, for the base bid and bid alternative 1 , in the <br /> amount of $1,170,000. <br /> 3. Authorize the City Manager to enter into the above construction contract. <br /> 4. Authorize the Director of Engineering to approve and execute contract change <br /> orders for a contingency amount not-to-exceed $175,500. <br /> 5. Authorize the City Manager to enter into the architect contract with ATI-AC Martin <br /> (Formerly ATI Architects and Engineers) to provide additional design and <br /> construction support services for the not-to-exceed amount of $86,450. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The anticipated total expenditure for this project is $1,525,986, including design costs to <br /> date, the construction award, construction contingency, construction support services, <br /> and other miscellaneous costs. A total of $1.8 million is budgeted for the project in the <br /> Softball Fieldhouse and Scorekeeper's Booth Renovation Project, CIP No. 17746. The <br /> funding and anticipated project expenditures are detailed in Attachment 1. <br />
