AGENDA REPORT <br />June 5, 2019 <br />Item 4 <br />TITLE: CONSIDER RECOMMENDATION MODIFYING PLEASANTON <br />PARATRANSIT FEES FOR FISCAL YEAR 2019/20 <br />SUMMARY <br />Pleasanton Paratransit Service (PPS) is a fee-based transportation program for <br />Americans with Disabilities (ADA) eligible riders ages 18 and older as well as senior <br />citizens ages 70 and above, who reside in Pleasanton, unincorporated Pleasanton and <br />Sunol. Fees for PPS riders have not increased since fiscal year 2011/2012, when they <br />were set at current rates; $3 for residents/in-town, $3.50 for residents/out-of-town, $3.50 <br />non-residents/in-town, and $4 for non-residents/out-of-town. While fees for service have <br />not increased in seven years, costs to provide the program have. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />Recommend modifying PPS fees for fiscal year 2019/20, setting new fees at $3.50 for <br />residents/in-town, $4 for residents/out-of-town, $4 non-residents/in-town, and $4.50 for <br />non-residents/out-of-town. <br />FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br />With an estimated annual ridership of 7,500, a fifty -cent increase is projected to yield <br />just under $4,000 in additional revenue, increasing the estimated fare revenue to <br />approximately $26,500. <br />
