THE CITY OF 7
". CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
pLEASANTON.
January 15, 2019
Human Resources
TITLE: ADOPT A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE UPDATED MANAGEMENT
AND CONFIDENTIAL EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE COMPENSATION
PLAN - 2018
SUMMARY
Management and confidential employees are not represented by an organized labor
group. Because an organized labor group does not represent these employees, the
City does not negotiate compensation or other personnel-related issues with these
classifications either as individuals or as a group. Instead, the City's past practice has
set forth a series of benefits determined by Council as providing a compensation
package necessary to attract and retain qualified employees, as documented in the
Management/Confidential Employee Performance Compensation Plan ("Plan"). The
City distributed the latest version of the Plan on February 27, 2015. This updated
document captures the changes previously approved by Council. No pay or benefit
enhancements are proposed with the adoption of this document, staff is simply
capturing previously approved modifications, reflecting administrative practices,
regulatory changes and classification title changes.
RECOMMENDATION
Adopt a resolution that approves the amended Management/Confidential Employee
Performance Compensation Plan document.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
The recommended amendment does not have a fiscal impact.
