THE CITY OF <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT 15 <br /> pLEASANTON. <br /> December 4, 2018 <br /> Community Development <br /> Traffic Engineering Division <br /> TITLE: ADOPT THE 1-580 OVERCROSSINGS BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN <br /> IMPROVEMENT PLAN <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The 1-580 Overcrossings Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvement Plan is a City Council <br /> priority. The 1-580 Overcrossings Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvement Plan focuses on <br /> design concepts for three overcrossings of 1-580 at Santa Rita Road, Hacienda Drive <br /> and Hopyard Road. The concept plans identify bicycle and pedestrian improvements, <br /> which include continuous bikeways, sidewalk widening, new crosswalk locations and <br /> high visibility crosswalks. The Bicycle, Pedestrian and Trails Committee (BPTC) served <br /> as the steering committee for development of the plan. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Staff recommends that the City Council adopt the 1-580 Overcrossings Bicycle and <br /> Pedestrian Improvement Plan. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Funding for the creation of the 1-580 Bicycle and Pedestrian Improvement Plan was <br /> provided through Measure B and BB Bicycle and Pedestrian funding. Construction <br /> funding has not yet been identified. <br />
