THE CITY OF 1 7 <br /> ~-� CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLE ASANTO\ <br /> August 21 , 2018 <br /> Operations Services <br /> TITLE: APPROVE THE PURCHASE AND AUTHORIZE FUNDING FOR THIRTEEN <br /> POLICE UTILITY INTERCEPTORS <br /> SUMMARY <br /> As part of the City's 20-year Repair & Replacement Plan, there are thirteen (13) of the <br /> twenty-seven (27) police patrol vehicles scheduled to be replaced this fiscal year <br /> (18/19). Patrol vehicles are scheduled to be replaced on a four-year cycle due to <br /> operational use and warranty expirations. <br /> The purchase of the vehicles will be facilitated through the California State Bid Contract <br /> number 1-18-23-14B that was awarded to Folsom Lake Ford in Folsom, CA. Vehicle <br /> outfitting will be completed by the City's approved contractor Lehr. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Approve the purchase and authorize funding for thirteen (13) Police Utility Interceptors <br /> and outfitting for the new patrol vehicles. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The cost to purchase and outfit the thirteen (13) patrol vehicles is $678,389.99. <br /> $604,000 is budgeted in FY 2018/19 in the Police Vehicle Replacement fund (511- <br /> 22110-410107). The actual cost of each patrol vehicle is $38,488 (CA tire fee and tax <br /> included) bringing the total cost of the purchase to $500,348. The outfitting cost for each <br /> patrol vehicle is $13,696 (tax and install included) bringing the total outfitting cost to <br /> $178,042. Adequate funding is available in the Police Vehicle Repair and Replacement <br /> Fund Balance to purchase and outfit the thirteen (13) patrol vehicles. <br />
