THE CITY OF <br /> • <br /> 19 <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTON <br /> June 19, 2018 <br /> Operations Services <br /> TITLE: APPROVE AGREEMENT WITH PSC INDUSTRIAL OUTSOURCING, LP, <br /> FOR ROUTINE HAZARDOUS WASTE HAULING AND EMERGENCY <br /> RESPONSE SERVICES <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The City seeks a contractor to manage routinely generated hazardous waste, perform <br /> non-emergency projects such as the closure and decontamination of hazardous waste <br /> storage structures or homeless encampments, and provide 24-hour emergency <br /> response in the event of a hazardous materials incident. Staff solicited proposals for <br /> these services by directly contacting contractors with the necessary qualifications, <br /> equipment, and experience in managing and hauling hazardous waste and in <br /> responding to emergencies involving hazardous materials. Four proposals with wide- <br /> ranging estimated costs were received by staff. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Authorize the City Manager to enter into a three-year contract with PSC Industrial <br /> Outsourcing, LP, starting July 1, 2018, with a not-to-exceed amount of $200,000 for the <br /> three-year contract term, and, upon mutual agreement of both parties, to extend this <br /> contract for two (2) additional one-year terms with a not-to-exceed annual maximum of <br /> $70,000. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Appropriations for this contract are included in the annual Operations Services <br /> Department budget. No additional appropriations are required, and there will be no <br /> increase to net City cost. <br />
