PLANNING COMMISSION -CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br />RESOLUTION NO PC -2008-61 <br />RESOLUTION FINDING THAT THE REFINED SUBMITTAL PLANS AND <br />SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION BY SUNRISE SENIOR LIVING FOR THE <br />PROPERTY AT 5700 PLEASANT HILL ROAD (SOUTHEAST CORNER OF <br />FOOTHILL ROAD AND STONERIDGE DRIVE) SUBSTANTIALLY CONFORM TO <br />THE APPROVED PLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENT ZONING (PUD -85-09) <br />AND APPROVING THE ZONING CERTIFICATE. <br />WHEREAS, Sunrise Senior Living submitted detailed plans and supporting <br />documentation, dated June 4, 2008, June 3, 2008, April 29, 2008, <br />March 11, 2008, and February 27, 2008, to the City for development of an <br />assisted living facility ("Project") at the approximately 2.5 -acre property <br />located at 5700 Pleasant Hill Road ("Property") and has requested a <br />zoning certificate confirming that its plans for the Project substantially <br />conform to the existing Planned Unit Development zoning for the site <br />(PUD -85-09) as required by Condition of Approval No. 1 for PUD -85-09; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Community Development Director determined that the June 4, 2008, <br />June 3, 2008, April 29, 2008, March 11, 2008, and February 27, 2008 <br />plans and supporting documentation submitted by Sunrise substantially <br />conformed to the requirements of PUD -85-09; and <br />WHEREAS, due to neighborhood interest in the project, the Director of Community <br />Development placed his determination on the Planning Commission's <br />agenda as if an appeal to his determination had been filed; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on June 11, 2008, <br />received public comment on the June 4, 2008, June 3, 2008, April 29, <br />2008, March 11, 2008, and February 27, 2008 plans and supporting <br />documentation and the Project, and provided feedback to the applicant on <br />refinements that were necessary for the submitted plans to substantially <br />conform to the requirements of PUD -85-09; and <br />WHEREAS, the Planning Commission requested that the applicant and neighborhood <br />representatives participate in a series of meetings with a facilitator chosen <br />by the City to formulate refinements that would simultaneously address <br />neighborhood comments about the project while bringing the submitted <br />plans into greater conformity with PUD -85-09, particularly as to the height <br />and massing of the proposed building and the intensity of use of the site; <br />and <br />
