THE CITY OF 3 <br /> CITY COUNCL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTON. <br /> November 15, 2016 <br /> City Manager's Office <br /> TITLE: APPROPRIATION OF AN ADDITIONAL $46,038 OF PUBLIC, <br /> EDUCATIONAL, AND GOVERNMENT (PEG) ACCESS FUNDS FOR <br /> CAPITAL EXPENDITURES BY TRI-VALLEY COMMUNITY TELEVISION <br /> (TVCTV) <br /> SUM 1ARY <br /> Tn-Valley Community Television (TVCTV) serves the educational and governmental <br /> television access needs for the cities of Dublin, Livermore and Pleasanton The City <br /> receives Public, Educational, and Government (PEG) access fee revenue from <br /> Comcast and AT&T state cable franchise agreements in accordance with the Digital <br /> Infrastructure and Video Competition Act (DIVCA) which is administered by the <br /> California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) These funds are designated for capital <br /> uses only, and the City of Pleasanton uses this revenue to support the capital needs of <br /> TVCTV Due to cost increases and additional equipment purchases not originally <br /> specified in the station's FY 2016-2017 Capital Budget, TVCTV requests an additional <br /> $46,038 from the City <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> It is recommended that the City Council approve the appropriation of an additional <br /> $46,038 in capital expenditures from Public, Educational, and Government access fees <br /> for Tn-Valley Community Television capital expenses for Fiscal Year 2016-2017 <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> TVCTV's approved FY 2016-2017 Capital Budget originally included $65,182 from <br /> Pleasanton This amount was incorporated into the City's FY 2016-2017 mid term <br /> budget update that the City Council approved in June 2016 If the additional request for <br /> $46,038 is approved, Pleasanton's adjusted proportional PEG funding for TVCTV in FY <br /> 2016-2017 would be $111,220 <br /> There is currently an available blalance of $899,754 in PEG Revenues to cover this <br /> expenditure <br />
