22
THE CITY OF
—! nT ' .: _. CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
pL£ASANTON¢
October 4, 2016
Operations Services Department
TITLE: PRESENTATION ON ALAMEDA COUNTY'S COMMUNITY CHOICE
AGGREGATION PROGRAM
SUMMARY
Alameda County initiated a Community Choice Aggregation program in June 2014, and
established the East Bay Community Energy Steering Committee in June 2015. Over the
past year, the Committee has advised the County Community Development Agency on
matters related to Community Choice Energy in Alameda County, including the Technical
Study for Community Choice Aggregation Program in Alameda County, the design of a
Joint Powers Agency (JPA), and marketing program material.
County staff and consultants from LEAN Energy USA have provided similar presentations
to other Alameda County cities to provide an update on the Community Choice
Aggregation (CCA) program. This presentation is a follow up to their June 21St
presentation to Council. The presentation will provide an overview of the proposed CCA
program, the key objectives of the technical study (final), an update on the East Bay
Community Energy Authority Joint Powers Agreement (JPA), and information on where
the County Board of Supervisors are in their process in reviewing the project.
RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council receive the presentation on the Community
Choice Aggregation Program.
