THE CITY OF 11 <br /> r2__ <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pL£AS4NTONo <br /> March 1, 2016 <br /> Operations Services <br /> TITLE: RATIFY EMERGENCY PURCHASE ORDER WITH ACCO ENGINEERING <br /> SYSTEMS FOR HVAC REPAIRS AT THE SENIOR CENTER <br /> SUMMARY <br /> In November 2015, the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system at the <br /> Pleasanton Senior Center experienced a catastrophic failure, eliminating the ability to <br /> adjust the system to regulate the temperature. In December, City staff worked with its <br /> As-Needed Contractor, ACCO Engineering Systems, to perform emergency repairs to <br /> the system and retrofit the valve boxes to allow for air flow and the temperature to be <br /> controlled throughout the facility. The City Council is being asked to ratify the agreement <br /> signed by the City Manager as authorized in the City's Purchasing Policy. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Ratify the Agreement for Services with ACCO Engineering Systems with a not to <br /> exceed amount of$220,000. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The cost for emergency HVAC repair services is $219,200. Funding is available in <br /> Internal Service Fund 043900 for facilities renovations and repairs. <br />
