IN THE AMOUNT OF $888,032.52 FOR THE BERNAL AVENUE AT <br />1 -680 LANDSCAPE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT; APPROVE THE SEVENTH <br />AMENDMENT TO THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH <br />BKF ENGINEERS IN THE AMOUNT OF $97,100 FOR ADDITIONAL <br />DESIGN SERVICES; AND APPROVE THE TASK AUTHORIZATION WITH <br />PAKPOUR CONSULTING GROUP IN THE AMOUNT OF $76,776 FOR <br />CONSTRUCTION SUPPORT SERVICES FOR THE BERNAL AVENUE AT <br />1 -680 LANDSCAPE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT, CIP NO. 155006 <br />SUMMARY <br />The project will install landscape and gateway monument features at the I- 680 /Bernal <br />Avenue interchange. Bids have been received and staff is recommending the award of <br />the construction contract to the lowest responsible bidder, Cleary Brothers Landscape, <br />Inc. in the amount of $888,032.52. Staff is recommending approval of the seventh <br />amendment to the professional services agreement with BKF Engineers to perform <br />additional engineering services in the amount of $97,100. Staff is also recommending <br />the approval of the task authorization with Pakpour Consulting Group, Inc. to provide <br />construction support services during construction in the amount of $76,776. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />1. Approve the plans and specifications for the Bernal Avenue at 1 -680 Landscape <br />Improvement project, CIP No. 155006. <br />2. Review the bids received and award the construction contract to the lowest <br />responsible bidder, Cleary Brothers Landscape, Inc. of Danville, California, for the <br />total amount of $888,032.52 that includes the base bid, Additive Bid 1 and Additive <br />Bid 2. <br />3. Authorize the City Manager to enter into the construction contract with Cleary <br />Brothers Landscape, Inc. <br />4. Approve the Seventh Amendment to the Professional Services Agreement with BKF <br />Engineers in the amount of $97,100 to perform additional engineering services <br />during construction. <br />5. Approve a task authorization in the amount of $76,776 under the City's on -call <br />contract (13 -1093) for as- needed general engineering professional services with <br />Pakpour Consulting Group, Inc. <br />
