THE CITY OF w O <br /> " CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT I <br /> pL EASANTON. <br /> June 2, 2015 <br /> Community Services <br /> TITLE: APPROVE THE LOCATION OF THE PUBLIC ARTWORK, "ON THE <br /> COUNT OF THREE" AT THE PLEASANTON LIBRARY <br /> SUMMARY <br /> On December 6, 2011 at its regular meeting, City Council approved the purchase of the <br /> public art piece, "On the Count of Three'; as part of the Harrington Public Art Acquisition <br /> Plan - Phase II. "On the Count of Three"is a bronze sculpture. <br /> On April 10, 2015, the location for "On the Count of Three" was reviewed by both the <br /> Public Art Selection Subcommittee, as well as representatives from the Library <br /> Commission. Both PASS members and the Library Commissioners unanimously <br /> approved the installation of "On the Count of Three" at the Pleasanton Library located at <br /> 400 Old Bernal Avenue. On May 4, 2015, the Civic Arts Commission approved the <br /> location and requested that their recommendation be forwarded to the City Council for <br /> their review and consideration. <br /> CIVIC ARTS COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION <br /> That the City Council approve the location of the public artwork "On the Count of Three" <br /> at the Pleasanton Library, located at 400 Old Bernal Avenue. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> That the City Council approve the location of the public artwork "On the Count of Three" <br /> at the Pleasanton Library located at 400 Old Bernal Avenue. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The artwork "On the Count of Three" which is valued at $64,600, has been donated to <br /> the City by Nancy and Gary Harrington. Pursuant to the terms of the Harrington Art <br /> Partnership, it is the City's responsibility to coordinate and pay for the installation of the <br /> public artworks. The cost of installing the piece is estimated between $2,000- $4,000 <br /> and will be funded through the Public Art Acquisition Fund # 038-900-4385. <br />
