THE CITY OF () <br /> " CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT `PJS <br /> pL£ASANTONo <br /> March 17, 2015 <br /> Operations Services <br /> TITLE: APPROVAL TO EXTEND THE EXISTING AGREEMENT WITH ALAMEDA <br /> COUNTY TO PROVIDE SEWER AND WATER OPERATION AND <br /> MAINTENANCE SERVICES FOR THE CASTLEWOOD SERVICE AREA FOR <br /> AN ADDITIONAL YEAR BEGINNING JULY 1, 2015 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Alameda County Public Works Department (County) oversees and administers the <br /> Castlewood County Service Area's (CSA's) water and sewer systems. In February 2012, <br /> the County issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) No. 900973 for proposals to operate <br /> and maintain the CSA for the fiscal year starting July 1, 2012. In response, the City <br /> Council authorized submittal of a proposal to provide the requested services and with its <br /> acceptance by the County, the City began servicing the CSA effective July 1, 2012. The <br /> current agreement is scheduled to expire June 30, 2015 and staff is recommending <br /> approval for the City to provide an additional year of service commencing July 1, 2015. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Approve the County of Alameda Standard Service Agreement Fifth Amendment for <br /> Master Contract # 900973 (Attachment 1) for the continued operations and maintenance <br /> of the CSA sewer and water systems for a period of one year beginning July 1, 2015. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The agreement anticipates payments to the City in an amount not to exceed $185,000 <br /> based on both a fixed monthly amount (of $8,372) and time and material costs. Fees are <br /> set to assure that the operation is revenue positive to the City. The fee amounts <br /> represent the same fee structure as in last year's contract based on the anticipated work <br /> necessary for the next fiscal year. <br />
