3 <br /> THE CITY OF <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pL£ASANTON. <br /> February, 3, 2015 <br /> Community Development <br /> Engineering Division <br /> TITLE: APPROVE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, REVIEW BIDS, AND AWARD <br /> CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT TO ROSAS BROTHERS CONSTRUCTION <br /> IN THE AMOUNT OF $294,980 FOR THE ANNUAL CURB & GUTTER <br /> REPLACEMENT PROJECT, CIP NO. 145009 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Bids have been received for the project to remove and replace damaged sidewalk, curb <br /> and gutter, and install new Americans with Disabilities Act(ADA) access ramps and street <br /> improvements. Staff is recommending award of the construction contract to Rosas <br /> Brothers Construction in the amount of$294,980. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Approve the plans and specifications for this project. <br /> 2. Review the bids received and award the construction contract for the project to <br /> Rosas Brothers Construction of Oakland, California, in the amount of $294,980. <br /> 3. Authorize the City Manager to enter into the above construction contract. <br /> 4. Authorize the Director of Community Development to approve and execute <br /> contract change orders for a contingency amount not to exceed $29,496 (10% of <br /> the construction contract), for any necessary related project work. <br /> 5. Appropriate $24,700 from the Streets CIP (Fund 160) to fully fund the project. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The anticipated total expenditure for this project is $324,700 including a construction <br /> contingency of $29,496. Current funding for the project is short by $24,700 due to new <br /> design standards for constructing ADA access ramps. Staff is recommending Council <br /> appropriate $24,700 from the Streets CIP (Fund 160) to fully fund the project. <br />
