THE CITY OF <br /> 7 <br /> pL£ASANTON, CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> January 20, 2015 <br /> Operations Services <br /> TITLE: RE-CERTIFICATION OF SEWER SYSTEM MANAGEMENT PLAN (SSMP) <br /> SUMMARY <br /> In 2006 the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB), through Order No. 2006- <br /> 0003-DWQ, developed Statewide Waste Discharge Requirements (WDR) requiring <br /> entities that own or operate Wastewater Collection Systems to update their Sewer <br /> System Management Plan (SSMP) every five years. In addition, the WDR requires each <br /> agency's governing body (in our case the City Council), to certify this update. In <br /> response, staff has completed its review of the SSMP and is recommending its <br /> certification by the City Council. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Certify the updated Sewer Management Plan (Attachment 1) <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> There is no financial impact to the City as a result of this action and the plan's <br /> implementation will be carried out by City staff. <br />
