FOR THE BICYCLE AND PEDESTRIAN RELATED <br /> IMPROVEMENTS HOPYARD AND GOLDEN, CIP NO. 135043 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The project consisted of civil and landscaping improvements at the intersection of <br /> Hopyard Road and Golden Road to improve the pedestrian circulation. The project <br /> reconfigured the intersection, changed the location of the curbs, and installed <br /> Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) access ramps. The improvements shortened the <br /> distance pedestrian's travel in the roadway while improving sight distance. Construction <br /> of the project is complete and ready for acceptance. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Accept the improvements for the project. <br /> 2. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion. <br /> 3. Authorize the payment of the retention in the amount of $11,457.85 to Sposeto <br /> Engineering, Inc. thirty days after recordation of the Notice of Completion. <br /> 4. Authorize the transfer of the project unspent balance of $6,401 in the Bicycle and <br /> Pedestrian Related Improvements project, CIP 135043, to the Metropolitan <br /> Transportation Commission (MTC) Fund balance. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Funding for this project totaled $280,500 as outlined in Attachment 1. Expenditures <br /> totaled $274,099, leaving an unspent balance of $6,401. Staff recommends the transfer <br /> of this balance to the MTC Fund balance (Fund 561 which is funded by the State of <br /> California Transportation Development Act). <br />
