RESOLUTION NO. 14-666 <br /> A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> APPROVING AMENDMENT TO CONTRACT WITH ZONE 7 SUSPENDING <br /> INDEPENDENT QUOTA FOR GROUNDWATER PUMPING DURING DROUGHT <br /> WHEREAS, the Alameda Flood Control and Water Conservation District Zone 7 and the <br /> City entered into a water supply contract dated March 12, 1968 to set limits on groundwater <br /> pumping in compliance with State Water Rights Permit No. 11319; and <br /> WHEREAS, due to extremely dry conditions persisting since 2012, the City and Zone 7 <br /> need to utilize more groundwater since less surface water will be delivered by the State; and <br /> WHEREAS, the City and Zone 7 wish to amend the contract to suspend the independent <br /> quota on groundwater pumping and related recharge fees during the current drought. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> PLEASANTON DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER THE FOLLOWING: <br /> SECTION 1. The City Council approves the Amendment to the Contract between <br /> Alameda County Flood Control and Water Conservation District Zone 7 and the City of <br /> Pleasanton, in generally the form attached as Exhibit A, subject to modification by the City <br /> Manager in consultation with the Director of Operations Services. <br /> SECTION 2.
