CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> November 19, 2013 <br /> Community Development <br /> Engineering Division <br /> TITLE: ACCEPT PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED BY A-1 SEPTIC TANK <br /> SERVICES, INC. FOR THE VALLEY AVENUE PEDESTRIAN PATHWAY <br /> PROJECT, CIP NO. 115016 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> This project consisted of constructing 900 feet of asphalt concrete paved pedestrian <br /> pathway along Valley Avenue between Sunol Boulevard and the Alameda County <br /> Transportation Corridor. This replaced an existing parallel trail which is losing its <br /> northern edge due to soil eroding into the adjacent creek. Construction of this project is <br /> complete and ready for acceptance by City Council. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Accept the project improvements. <br /> 2. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for the project. <br /> 2. Authorize payment of the retention in the amount of $4,207.86 to A-1 Septic Tank <br /> Services, Inc. of Hayward, California, thirty days after the recordation of the Notice <br /> of Completion. <br /> 3. Authorize the transfer of the project unspent balance in the amount of $24,225 to <br /> the Measure B (Bikes & Pedestrians) Fund balance. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Funding for this project totaled $112,500 as outlined in Attachment 1. Expenditures <br /> totaled $88,275, leaving a balance of $24,225 in the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) <br /> budget. Staff recommends the transfer of this balance to the Measure B (Bikes & <br /> Pedestrians) Fund balance. <br />
