THE CITY OF 11
- # ° •_- et: CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
pL£ASANTONo
July 16, 2013
Community Development
Planning Department
TITLE: CONSIDER MAINTAINING PHIL BLANK AS A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE
HISTORIC PRESERVATION TASK FORCE
SUMMARY
On December 6, 2011, the City Council confirmed the appointments to the seven-
member Historic Preservation Task Force, which included two Planning Commissioners:
Phil Blank and Jennifer Pearce. Phil Blank's term as a Planning Commissioner ended on
June 12, 2013. At the June 18, 2013, City Council meeting, Councilmember Narum
requested that an item be placed on the next Council agenda to consider whether Phil
Blank could remain on the Task Force given the length of time he has served on the Task
Force and the limited time remaining before the Task Force's conclusion. A majority of
the Council agreed to agendize the item.
The City Council is being asked whether Phil Blank can remain on the Task Force until its
conclusion or if a Planning Commissioner should be appointed to replace him.
RECOMMENDATION
Retain Phil Blank on the Historic Preservation Task Force; do not appoint an additional
Planning Commissioner to the task force.
FINANCIAL STATEMENT
There is no fiscal impact related to this item.
