IN <br /> THE AMOUNT OF $79,500, FOR THE VALLEY AVENUE PEDESTRIAN <br /> PATHWAY PROJECT, CIP NO. 115016 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Bids have been received for the project and staff is recommending award of the <br /> construction contract to the lowest responsible bidder, A-1 Septic Tank Service, Inc. in <br /> the amount of $79,500. Plans and specifications were prepared for the project, which <br /> consists of the construction of an asphalt concrete paved pedestrian pathway along the <br /> south side of Valley Avenue between Sunol Boulevard and the Alameda County <br /> Transportation Corridor. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Approve plans and specifications for this project. <br /> 2. Award the construction contract to A-1 Septic Tank Service, Inc. of Hayward, <br /> California, in the amount of $79,500 and authorize its execution by the City <br /> Manager. <br /> 3. Authorize the Director of Community Development to approve and execute required <br /> contract change orders to address unanticipated project conditions for a not-to- <br /> exceed amount of$7,950 (10% of the contract). <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> On November 20, 2012, City Council authorized the transfer of $112,500 of Measure B <br /> Bike Pedestrian funds for this project from the Capital Improvement Program (CIP) <br /> project General Trail Improvements and Development, CIP No. 017037. <br />
