THE CITY OF 4 <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT 4 <br /> pL£ASANTONo <br /> April 16, 2013 <br /> City Manager <br /> City Attorney <br /> TITLE: AMENDMENTS TO THE LEAGUE OF CALIFORNIA CITIES BYLAWS <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Board of Directors of the League of California Cities has proposed two <br /> amendments to the League's bylaws. To be approved, the amendments must receive a <br /> 2/3`d vote of the member cities voting. Pleasanton's vote must be submitted by April 19, <br /> 2013. <br /> The first proposed amendment is to require at least five member cities to concur before <br /> a resolution may be brought to the League for presentation to the General Assembly at <br /> the annual conference. The second proposed amendment is to require a 2/3`d vote of <br /> those directors present for the League Board of Directors to take a position on a <br /> statewide ballot measure. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Authorize the City Manager to submit a ballot on behalf of the City of Pleasanton voting <br /> 1) to approve the amendment relating to submission of resolutions to the League's <br /> General Assembly, and 2) to approve the amendment relating to the League Board vote <br /> threshold for taking stands on statewide ballot measures. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> There is no financial impact to the City of Pleasanton stemming from this action. <br />
