IN THE <br /> AMOUNT OF $291,301 FOR THE STAPLES RANCH: IRRIGATION AND <br /> LANDSCAPING IMPROVEMENTS AT EL CHARRO ROAD AND THE 1-580 <br /> INTERCHANGE PROJECT, CIP NO. 115023 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Bids have been received for the Staples Ranch: Irrigation and Landscaping <br /> Improvements at El Charro Road and the 1-580 Interchange project, CIP No. 115023. <br /> Staff is recommending award of the construction contract to the lowest responsible <br /> bidder, Bortolussi & Watkin, Inc. in the amount of $291,301. The work will consist of <br /> irrigation and landscaping improvements at the southwest quadrant of El Charro Road <br /> and the 1-580 Interchange. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Approve the plans and specifications for this project. <br /> 2. Review the bids received and award the construction contract for the project to <br /> Bortolussi & Watkin, Inc. of San Rafael, California, in the amount of$291,301. <br /> 3. Authorize the City Manager to enter into the above construction contract. <br /> 4. Authorize the Director of Community Development to approve and execute <br /> contract change orders for a contingency amount not to exceed $29,130 <br /> (approximately 10% of the construction contract), for any necessary related <br /> project work. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Funding for this project includes an allocation of $350,000 from the Capital <br /> Improvement Program (CIP), Staples Ranch: Irrigation and Landscaping Improvements <br /> at El Charro Road and the 1-580 Interchange project, CIP No. 115023. In addition, <br /> $138,358 is available from the Regional Measure 2 (RM2) funds from the Alameda <br /> County Congestion Management Agency which was added to the project budget at the <br /> time of award of the design contract. Therefore, funding available for this contract totals <br /> $488,358. <br /> The City of Pleasanton will be maintaining the landscaping; therefore maintenance and <br /> operation costs will increase. <br />
