THE CITY OF 3 <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTONo <br /> January 15, 2013 <br /> Assistant City Manager <br /> TITLE: APPROVE AMENDMENT ONE TO THE STAPLES RANCH FUNDING AND <br /> IMPROVEMENT AGREEMENT FOR INCLUSION OF THE STONERIDGE <br /> DRIVE SOUNDWALL <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Staples Ranch Neighborhood Park/Detention Basin Funding arid Improvement <br /> Agreement approved in 2009 established responsibilities between the City, Continuing <br /> Life Communities (CLC), and the Surplus Property Authority of Alameda County <br /> (ACSPA), for Staples Ranch Improvements, including those related to construction of <br /> the Stoneridge Creek Neighborhood Park. As part of ongoing discussions with CLC <br /> and the ACSPA, it became apparent that the City could benefit from having CLC <br /> construct the Stoneridge Drive soundwall between Snowdrop Circle and Trevor <br /> Parkway as detailed in the City Capital Improvement Program project 115034 as part of <br /> its overall soundwall construction activity. The recommended amendment will provide <br /> that the soundwall be constructed by CLC for a cost not to exceed $200,000. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Approve the attached Amendment 1 to the Staples Ranch Neighborhood <br /> Park/Detention Basin Funding and Improvement Agreement providing for the <br /> construction of the Stonridge Drive Soundwall (CIP 115035) for a cost not to exceed <br /> $200,000. <br /> 2. Approve the expenditure of $200,000 as detailed in CIP Project 115035 to reimburse <br /> CLC for costs related to completing work as outlined in the recommended <br /> Amendment 1. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The City Capital Improvement Program project 115035 includes $230,000 in 2011-12FY <br /> for construction of the Stoneridge Drive soundwall. <br />
