CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> February 2, 2012 <br /> Administrative Services <br /> TITLE: APPROVE AND ADOPT THE TENTATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br /> CITY OF PLEASANTON AND THE PLEASANTON POLICE <br /> OFFICERS' ASSOCIATION (PPOA) FOR A TERM ENDING MAY 31, <br /> 2014 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City of Pleasanton and the <br /> Pleasanton Police Officers' Association (PPOA) has expired. Representatives from <br /> both parties have met and conferred in good faith to develop a successor agreement. <br /> The City's practice is to introduce the key elements of the proposed tentative <br /> agreement, receive input from the public and allow for open discussion. This public <br /> input process was conducted at the January 31, 2012 meeting. The final step is for the <br /> City Council to approve and adopt the successor agreement that expires May 31, 2014. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> That the City Council approve and adopt the tentative agreement negotiated between <br /> the City of Pleasanton and the Pleasanton Police Officers' Association. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The financial impact associated with this tentative agreement is a savings to the City of <br /> approximately $2. 4 million through the FY 2013/2014 budget. <br /> Submitted by: Approve by: <br /> J e Yuan-Miu� Nelson Fialho <br /> Assistant City Manager/ City Manager <br /> Director of Administrative Services <br />
