THE CITY OF <br /> 4 <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pLEASANTONo <br /> January 31, 2012 <br /> Administrative Services <br /> TITLE: INTRODUCTION OF A TENTATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN CITY <br /> OF PLEASANTON AND THE PLEASANTON POLICE OFFICERS' <br /> ASSOCIATION (PPOA) FORA TERM ENDING MAY 31, 2014 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the City of Pleasanton and the <br /> Pleasanton Police Officers' Association (PPOA) has expired. Representatives from <br /> both parties have met and conferred in good faith to develop a successor agreement. <br /> The City's practice is to introduce the key elements of the proposed tentative <br /> agreement, receive input from the public and allow for open discussion prior to adopting <br /> the agreement at the next public meeting. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> That the City Council obtain public input regarding the key elements of the agreement <br /> negotiated between the City of Pleasanton and the Pleasanton Police Officers' <br /> Association. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The financial impact associated with this tentative agreement is a savings to the City of <br /> approximately $2.4 million through the FY 2013/2014 budget. <br /> Additionally, Exhibit A illustrates actuarial savings through Fiscal Year 2021/22 for the <br /> new proposed pension plan modifications, including projected EPMC contributions of <br /> 9% by affected employees. <br />
