THE CITY OF 11 <br /> '° " --' "i CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> pL£ASANTONo <br /> January 10, 2012 <br /> Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department <br /> TITLE: CONTRACT AWARD WITH PREMIER COMP MEDICAL GROUP FOR <br /> FIRE DEPARTMENT WELLNESS-FITNESS PROGRAM <br /> SUMMARY <br /> A Request for Proposal (RFP) was posted on November 23, 2011 on the City of <br /> Pleasanton City Bid website seeking a physician to provide a Fire Department <br /> Wellness-Fitness Program. Premier Comp was the only provider to submit a bid. <br /> Findings revealed that Premier Comp Medical Group was able to continue to offer <br /> comprehensive services within the established 11/12 budget for wellness and fitness. <br /> The contract for services will remain in accordance with the mandatory annual medical <br /> and fitness exams addressed in the 2007 MOU (Section 27.2; Page 31), with a few <br /> minor changes. Their current contract expired June 30, 2011. This contract would be <br /> from the current date through June 30, 2014 with an option to extend for one term. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Livermore-Pleasanton Fire Department (LPFD) is recommending that Premier Comp <br /> Medical Group continue to provide a physician based wellness and fitness program for <br /> fire suppression members. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> For each FY 11/12 and 12/13, a total of $81,000 has been budgeted to accounts 280- <br /> 787-4383, 280-780-4383 and 280-781-4383. This amount includes any specialty <br /> services required. Basic services offered under the bid proposal totaled approximately <br /> $68,000. Should specialty services be requested, it is anticipated that we will remain <br /> within the allotted budget. <br />
