Fm 08 <br /> pL£ASANTON, CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> September 6, 2011 <br /> Fire <br /> TITLE: AUTHORIZE AN AGREEMENT WITH THE ALAMEDA COUNTY <br /> EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES DISTRICT FOR THE PROVISION <br /> OF FIRST RESPONDER ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT TO THE <br /> COUNTY BY THE LIVERMORE-PLEASANTON FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> SUMMARY <br /> This agreement is amended and restated from a previous agreement with Alameda <br /> County Emergency Medical Services District in which the District reimburses the Fire <br /> Department's part of the cost to provide first response paramedic services from fire <br /> engines. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Staff requests the City Council authorize the City Manager to approve the FRALS <br /> agreement between the City and the County. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The County currently compensates the City for the 5-LPFD paramedic units that provide <br /> FRALS services in the event of a medical emergency. This agreement allows the City <br /> to remain eligible to receive compensation for first responder paramedic services <br /> provided by the LPFD. Anticipated revenues are included in the City Revenue forecast <br /> for fiscal year 2011-12. <br />
