9 <br /> THE CITY OF <br /> "" CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> PL£ASANTON. <br /> June 21, 2011 <br /> Community Services <br /> TITLE: APPROVAL OF SERVICE AGREEMENT WITH THE AMADOR <br /> LIVERMORE VALLEY HISTORICAL SOCIETY IN THE AMOUNT OF <br /> $138,805 FOR PROGRAMMING AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT <br /> ASSOCIATED WITH ALVISO ADOBE COMMUNITY PARK AND MUSEUM <br /> ON MAIN OPERATIONS <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The City of Pleasanton and the Board of Directors of the Amador Livermore Valley <br /> Historical Society (ALVHS), desire to continue its working relationship to combine efforts <br /> in enhancing interpretative programming at the Alviso Adobe Community Park, and <br /> preserving and commemorating the history of Pleasanton. Under the Agreement, <br /> ALVHS staff, working collaboratively with the City, would provide expertise in <br /> interpretive planning, changing of temporary exhibits, collections management, grant <br /> writing and fundraising. Funding has also been allocated to directly support the <br /> Museum on Main's administrative and programming costs associated with honoring the <br /> history of Pleasanton through its events, displays, and educational programs. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> That the City Council approve the service agreement with the Amador Livermore Valley <br /> Historical Society in the amount of $138,805, effective July 1, 2011. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The proposed agreement for $138,805 includes related expenses for interpretive <br /> programming and collections management for the Alviso Adobe ($35,842) and <br /> administrative support and programming for the Museum on Main ($102,963). Funds <br /> for these expenditures are included in the FY 2011/12 Operating Budget. <br />
