BORTOLOTTO & COMPANY FOR THE SANTA RITA PAVEMENT REHABILITATION (ARRA) PROJECT, CIP NO. 105023 SUMMARY This project consisted of the resurfacing of approximately 240,000 square feet of pavement surface on Santa Rita Road between Valley Avenue and Jensen Street. Construction of the subject project is complete and ready for acceptance by the City Council. RECOMMENDATION 1. Accept the improvements for this project. 2. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for the subject property. 3. Authorize payment of the project retention in the amount of $37,804.28 to G. Bortolotto & Company thirty days after recordation of the Notice of Completion. 4. Authorize the transfer of the remaining balance from the subject project to the Annual Resurfacing of Various City Streets project, CIP 105003, since the local funding portion of this project was provided from the Annual Resurfacing of Various City Streets project, CIP No. 095003. FINANCIAL STATEMENT The project qualified for a fixed amount of $371,289 from the federal government's American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) grant. Staff cost to provide engineering and project management for this project will be reimbursed by ARRA for a total amount of $12,235. Additionally, $66,914 in gas tax monies from the Annual Street Resurfacing project (CIP No. 095003) was used to complete the construction funding of this project. This project is part of the City's ongoing maintenance efforts to replace the deteriorated pavement surfaces of City streets. It is anticipated that ongoing maintenance and resurfacing will extend the useful life of the roadway system and reduce overall long -term replacement costs.
