THE CITY OF <br /> #^ ° ge'" CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT 9 <br /> pL£ASANTONA <br /> April 19, 2011 <br /> Community Development <br /> Engineering Division <br /> TITLE: ACCEPT PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED BY GRADE TECH INC. <br /> FOR THE DIVISION STREET AND RAILROAD AVENUE STREET <br /> IMPROVEMENTS PROJECT, CIP NO. 098044 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The subject project consists of removing and replacing the sidewalk, street trees, <br /> fencing, and street bulb -outs on Division Street between Railroad Avenue and Main <br /> Street, and on Railroad Avenue in front of the Firehouses Arts Center. Construction of <br /> the subject project is complete and ready for acceptance. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Accept the improvements for the subject project. <br /> 2. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for the subject project. <br /> 3. Authorize payment of the retention in the amount of $12,811.96 to Grade Tech Inc. <br /> thirty days after recordation of the Notice of Completion. <br /> 4. Authorize the transfer of $11,173 back into the Capital Improvement Program <br /> Reserve, CIP No. 068018. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The new improvements will reduce future maintenance cost. On May 4, 2010 City <br /> Council approved a transfer of $284,375 from the Capital Improvement Program <br /> Reserve to fund this project. Staff recommends the remaining balance of $11,173 be <br /> transferred back into the Capital Improvement Program Reserve, CIP No. 068018. <br />
