IN THE AMOUNT OF $2,083,000; APPROVE <br /> CONTRACT AMENDMENT NO. 1 IN THE AMOUNT OF $299,827 WITH <br /> CAROLLO ENGINEERS TO PROVIDE CONSTRUCTION SUPPORT <br /> SERVICES; AND APPROVE CONSULTANT AGREEMENT WITH ENGEO <br /> INCORPORATED IN THE AMOUNT OF $24,495 FOR SPECIALTY <br /> INSPECTION SERVICES FOR THE SANITARY SEWER LIFT STATION S -6 <br /> REPLACEMENT, CIP NO. 012027 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> Existing Sanitary Pump Station S -6 is currently in poor condition with capacity problems <br /> and is in need of replacement. Bids have been received and staff is recommending <br /> award of the construction contract to the lowest responsible bidder, Anderson Pacific <br /> Engineering Construction, Inc. in the amount of $2,083,000. Because of the specialized <br /> nature of this project, staff is recommending approval of an amendment to the <br /> consultant agreement with Carollo Engineers in the amount of $299,827 for additional <br /> design services and to provide construction support services during construction. In <br /> addition, staff is recommending the approval of a consultant agreement with ENGEO <br /> Incorporated in the amount of $24,495 to perform specialty inspection and testing. Staff <br /> recommends entering into Right of Entry and purchase agreements with Caltrans for <br /> purchase of the pump station parcel, in the amount of $160,200. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Approve the plans and specifications for the subject project. <br /> 2. Review the bids received and award the construction contract to the lowest <br /> responsible bidder, Anderson Pacific Engineering Construction, Inc. of Santa Clara, <br /> California, for a low bid amount of $2,083,000. <br /> 3. Approve contract Amendment No. 1 with Carollo Engineers in the amount of <br /> $299,827 to provide construction support services and additional engineering <br /> services. <br /> 4. Approve the attached professional consultant specialty inspection services <br /> agreement with ENGEO Incorporated in the not -to- exceed amount of $24,495. <br />
