She
knew Randy through Park & Rec, as well as from working on the Golf Course
Committee with him. She recalled that when he was being serious, she often joked with
him to elicit a smile. He often talked about his family, about Hawaii, and his vacations,
which would bring a twinkle to his eye. She recalled that when her own father passed
away, they distributed an ancient Indian saying that said in essence, "Do not weep for me,
for I am still here." She believed that Randy was still present in spirit in City Hall,
watching over the water and sewer connections, Vineyard Corridor, and Bernal Avenue.
She believed that he would strike the first golf ball at Happy Valley. She noted that
Randy was a special person who contributed immensely to the Planning Commission,
and to the Planning Department.

PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES

July 10, 2002

Page 1
