20 <br /> CITY OF 20 <br /> pL£ASANTONo CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> July 20, 2010 <br /> Parks and Community Services <br /> TITLE: APPROVE AMENDED VETERANS MEMORIAL BUILDING JOINT USE <br /> AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF PLEASANTON AND THE <br /> VETERANS ORGANIZATIONS OF PLEASANTON (VOP) <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The City entered into a Joint Use Agreement between the American Legion Post 237, <br /> VFW Post 6298, and VFW Post 6298 Ladies' Auxiliary collectively known as the <br /> Veterans Organizations of Pleasanton (VOP) on March 15, 2005, for joint use of the <br /> Veterans Memorial Building, located at 301 Main Street. The building was renovated in <br /> 2007 making it compliant with Federal, State, and City building code requirements. <br /> After three (3) years of operating the facility under the existing Agreement, an amended <br /> Agreement is required to address operational changes and requirements. <br /> PARKS AND RECREATON COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION <br /> The Parks and Recreation Commission recommended that the City Council approve the <br /> amended Joint Use Agreement between the City of Pleasanton and Veterans <br /> Organizations of Pleasanton. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> That the City Council adopt the amended Joint Use Agreement and authorize its <br /> execution by the City Manager. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The City has budgeted for expenses related to the use of the Veterans Memorial <br /> Building in the Support Services budget as indicated in Sections 7 Maintenance of the <br /> Facility, 8 Facility Set Up and 9 Utilities in the Agreement. For FY 2010/11, $21,380 <br /> has been budgeted, which covers uses from the public, i.e. rentals, City programs and <br /> events, and Veterans Organizations of Pleasanton events and meetings. <br />
