THE CITY OF <br /> 5 <br /> VV5 <br /> CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> [AL E ASANTON. <br /> March 16, 2010 <br /> Community Development <br /> Engineering Division <br /> TITLE: APPROVAL OF CONSULTANT CONTRACT AMENDMENT NO. 1 WITH <br /> MOSAIC ASSOCIATES TO PROVIDE YEAR TWO THROUGH YEAR FIVE <br /> MITIGATION MONITORING AND REPORTING SERVICES FOR THE <br /> BERNAL AVENUE BRIDGE AT ARROYO DEL VALLE PROJECT, CIP NO. <br /> 995067 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The Bernal Avenue Bridge at Arroyo Del Valle and mitigation wetland at Mission Creek <br /> project was constructed in 2008. During the design phase of the project, the City <br /> awarded a contract to Mosaic Associates to perform environmental engineering, <br /> monitoring and reporting services for the project through the end of the first year <br /> following completion of construction. Additional monitoring and reporting is mandatory <br /> under the existing environmental permits. Monitoring and reporting to the U. S. Army <br /> Corps of Engineers, Regional Water Quality Control Board, Department of Fish and <br /> Game, and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is required through the fifth year after <br /> completion of the project, requiring an amendment to the existing contract. The <br /> proposed Amendment No.1 includes $3,687 for work performed during year one that <br /> exceeded the scope and budget of the original contract, and $111,507 for monitoring <br /> and reporting for years two through five. The total amount of the proposed Amendment <br /> No. 1 is $115,194. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Approve Consultant Contract Amendment No. 1 with Mosaic Associates to <br /> provide mitigation monitoring and reporting services for years two through five <br /> for the Bernal Avenue Bridge at Arroyo Del Valle, CIP No. 995067, for an <br /> amount of $115,194. <br /> 2. Authorize the City Manager to execute the attached Contract Amendment <br /> No. 1. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The subject amendment shall increase the project cost by $115,194 and is within the <br /> budgeted amount. <br />
