CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON <br /> <br /> ALAMEDA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 1504 <br /> <br /> AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE APPLICATION OF <br /> pLEASANTVILLAGE CENTER, SHELL OIL, AND BAKERS <br /> SQUARE RESTAURANT FOR A MAJOR MODIFICATION TO <br /> AN APPROVED pLANNED UNIT DEVELOPMENTAS FIT~D <br /> UNDER CASE NUMBER PUD-80-15-SD-3M <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Pleasant Village Center, Shell Oil, and Bakers Square <br /> Restaurant have applied for a major modification to an <br /> approved planned unit development to allow for the use of <br /> banners for promotional and grand opening events at the <br /> Pleasant Village Shopping Center located at 6700 Santa <br /> Rita Road at the intersection of Pimlico Drive; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the PUD for Pleasant Village Shopping Center was approved <br /> as a ballot measure, Measure X, in November, 1988 and has <br /> since been modified two times by the City Council; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the applicants would like to have a grand opening display <br /> for one month and a one-day grand opening ceremony. <br /> During the one-month period, the applicants would use the <br /> traditional grand opening banners to advertise the new <br /> center and business. The applicants would also like to <br /> display a new car which would be given away as part of a <br /> contest during the grand opening ceremony; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the requested modification is reasonable and would not <br /> violate the original intent of this PUD; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Council received the Planning Commission's <br /> recommendations for approval of the proposed major <br /> modification to the approved planned unit development; <br /> and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, projects of this nature are categorically exempt from the <br /> requirements of the California Environmental Quality Act <br /> (CEQA); and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, a duly noticed public hearing was held on March 19, 1991; <br /> and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the City Council finds that this major modification is <br /> consistent with the General Plan policies of the City of <br /> Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF PLEASANTON DOES HEREBY ORDAIN AS <br /> FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> <br />
