CITY OF PLEASANTON <br />COUNTY OF ALAMEDA <br />STATE OF CALIFORNIA <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. 75-28 <br /> <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A MAJOR WATER RATE <br /> <br />WHEREAS , <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />WHEREAS , <br /> <br />WHEREAS , <br /> <br /> STUDY. <br /> <br />the City Council, at its meeting of February 10, 1975, <br />received a report from the Assistant to the City <br />Manager, Mr. Walker, regarding interim adjustment to <br />water rate schedule; and <br />said report indicated that due to recent increases <br />in Zone 7 water charges, an increase in the amount <br />of water received from Zone 7 as opposed to being <br />pumped from the City wells and due to the amo~lt of <br />water used each year by the City for municipal <br />purposes such as watering parks and providing water <br />to other facilities, tile City of Pleasanton will be <br />experiencing a $240,000 deficit over the next 18 <br />months unless an adjustment is made in the water rate <br />schedule; and <br />the City Council, at its meeting of February 10, 1975, <br />introduced an urgency measure to increase the water <br />rates on an interim basis pending the investigation <br />of water rates now charged in other municipalities <br />and the needs of the City of Pleasanton; and <br />the City Manager~s office has requested authorization <br />to proceed to conduct a major water rate study in <br />order to provide more information to the City Council <br />as well as to indicate the needs of the City from a <br />financing standpoint to insure that we will have <br />sufficient monies to pay for future increases in <br />waher rates. <br /> <br /> <br />
