THE CITY OF <br /> i CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT 1 0 <br /> pLEASANTON, <br /> December 4, 2018 <br /> Engineering <br /> TITLE: APPROVE A PURCHASE ORDER WITH SPECIFIED PLAY EQUIPMENT <br /> COMPANY IN THE AMOUNT OF $159,998 TO REPLACE PLAY <br /> EQUIPMENT AT HANSEN NEIGHBORHOOD PARK <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The City of Pleasanton is renovating the existing playground for 5- to 12-year-olds at <br /> Hansen Park as part of the City's routine maintenance program. The project was <br /> advertised and consultants were chosen based on their qualification package and <br /> interviews. Conceptual designs were presented during public outreach conducted on <br /> October 27, 2018, at the playground site. The comments received during the outreach <br /> process were incorporated into a revised design and presented to the Parks and <br /> Recreation Commission on November 8, 2018. The Parks and Recreation Commission <br /> recommended approval of the design. The purchase order in the amount of $159,998 <br /> for play equipment and installation from Specified Play Equipment Company (SPEC) <br /> reflects the recommendation of the Parks and Recreation Commission. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> Authorize the City Manager to execute a purchase order with SPEC in the amount of <br /> $159,998, for playground equipment and installation at Hansen Park. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Funding for the recommended Purchase Order ($159,998) is budgeted and available in <br /> CIP No. 18745, Playground Replacements, for the procurement and installation of the <br /> playground apparatus. <br />
