<br /> <br />4G <br /> <br />\.. <br /> <br />- <br /> <br />pLEASANTONc <br /> <br />City Council <br />Staff Report <br /> <br />May 2, 2006 <br />Public Works Department <br /> <br />SUBJECT: <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, REVIEW OF <br />BIDS AND AWARD OF CONTRACT FOR ANNUAL CURB AND <br />GUTTER REPLACEMENTS, PROJECT NO. 055009 <br /> <br />STAFF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the City Council take the following action at the <br />meeting of May 2, 2006: <br /> <br />1. Approve plans and specifications for the subject project. <br /> <br />2. Review the bids received and award the contract for the subject <br />project to Rosas Brothers Construction, for a low bid amount of <br />$177,976. <br /> <br />3. Authorize the City Manager to enter into a contract with Rosas <br />Brothers Construction. <br /> <br />4. Authorize the Director of Public Works to approve and execute <br />contract change orders for a contingency amount of $35,595 (20% of <br />the contract price). <br /> <br />5. Authorized transfer of $64,000 from Project 045003, Annual Street <br />Resurfacing. <br /> <br />SUMMARY: <br /> <br />Bids have been received for the subject project and staff is recommending <br />award of a construction contract to the lowest responsible bidder, Rosas <br />Brothers Construction, in the amount of $177,976. The subject project <br />consists of the removal and replacement of damaged curb, gutter, <br />sidewalk and driveway, and the installation of access ramps on Blackbird <br />Way, Kolln Street, Jensen Street, School Street, Graham Street, Cotterell <br /> <br />SR 06:130 <br />Page 1 of 3 <br />
