THE CITY OF <br /> ��r�__ _ 'L'"•1 5 <br /> PL£ASANTONe CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT <br /> October 15, 2013 <br /> Community Development <br /> Engineering Division <br /> TITLE: ACCEPT PUBLIC IMPROVEMENTS PERFORMED BY CAGGIANO <br /> GENERAL ENGINEERING FOR THE VINEYARD AVENUE WATER MAIN <br /> REPLACEMENT PROJECT, CIP NO. 121031 <br /> SUMMARY <br /> This project consisted of installing approximately 2,900 linear feet of water main along <br /> Vineyard Avenue between Adams Way and Bernal Avenue, and completing various <br /> piping upgrades at the Vineyard Avenue pump station. This work replaces aging <br /> underground infrastructure, minimizes maintenance costs, and addresses water quality <br /> issues within the Vineyard Avenue neighborhood. Construction of this project is <br /> complete and ready for acceptance by City Council. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> 1. Accept the project improvements. <br /> 2. Authorize the City Clerk to file a Notice of Completion for the project. <br /> 3. Authorize payment of the retention in the amount of $25,596.11 to Caggiano <br /> General Engineering of El Dorado Hills, California, thirty days after the recordation <br /> of the Notice of Completion. <br /> 4. Authorize the transfer of the project unspent balance in the amount of $66,180 to <br /> the Water Replacement Fund balance. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> Funding for this project totaled $589,355 as outlined in Attachment 1. Expenditures <br /> totaled $523,175, leaving an unspent balance of $66,180. Staff recommends the <br /> transfer of this unspent balance to the Water Replacement Fund balance. <br />
