August 20, 2013 Police TITLE: APPROVAL OF CONTRACT WITH ALL CITY MANAGEMENT SERVICES (ACMS) IN THE AMOUNT OF $284,292 FOR CROSSING GUARD SERVICES SUMMARY The Police Department is requesting approval to renew its contract with All City Management Services to provide Crossing Guard Services for FY 2013/14 and FY 2014/15. Services include an outsourced crossing guard program to perform school crossing guard services for the City of Pleasanton and the Pleasanton Unified School District. All City Management Services will provide all Crossing Guard Services, including training, supervision, and administration of the program. Crossing Guard Service is currently provided at 21 locations totaling 20,316 staffing hours during the regular school year and 6 locations totaling 456 staffing hours during the summer school period. RECOMMENDATION It is recommended that the City Council approve the contract with All City Management Services (ACMS) in the amount of$284,292 for Crossing Guard Services. FINANCIAL STATEMENT The proposed contract for $284,292 would provide the City of Pleasanton with administration, supervision and training of 21 adult crossing guards for 20,316 hours during the school year and 6 adult crossing guards for 456 hours during summer school (20,772 hours each year of the contract) for the two year period commencing July 1, 2013 through June 30, 2015. The Police Department has $287,000 included in its operating budget each year for these services.
