THE CITY OF 3 <br /> t° "" CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT V( <br /> PLEASANTON. <br /> June 18, 2013 <br /> City Manager's Office <br /> TITLE: ADOPT RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ONE-TIME PAYMENT EQUAL <br /> TO 3% OF SALARY FOR CITY OF PLEASANTON MANAGEMENT <br /> EMPLOYEES <br /> SUMMARY <br /> The City of Pleasanton has approximately 50 managers; this figure includes department <br /> heads but does not include the City Manager or the City Attorney. The City Council is <br /> authorizing a one-time payment, equal to 3% of salary for these management <br /> employees. As of September 2012, all affected employees began paying the full 8% or <br /> 9% of the member contribution towards their retirement program. <br /> One-time payments are provided only in the year it is authorized and do not impact <br /> pensionable wages. <br /> RECOMMENDATION <br /> That the City Council adopt the resolution authorizing a one-time payment, equal to 3% <br /> of salary, for this group of management employees. <br /> FINANCIAL STATEMENT <br /> The cost for this one-time payment is approximately $183,000.
