Attachment A <br />Heritage Days Bicycle Races <br />and Parade <br />Page 2 <br /> <br />Police/Fire Department Conditions (same for both events): <br /> <br />Event sponsors provide a minimum of eight (8) adults to <br />assist the police with barricade control and crowd control. <br /> <br />-2. <br /> <br />S~onsors provide adequate rest-room facilities at the <br />start/finish area. (At least two portable toilets on <br />the 500 block of Main Street) <br /> <br />Sponsors maintain a schedule and timing to keep the <br />event to a minimum time period so additional fatigue and <br />overtime is not placed upon members of the police department. <br /> <br />4. Sponsors arrange for off street parking wherever possible. <br /> <br />Sponsors arrange for qualified persons to remain at a <br />designated location to provide emergency first aid for <br />participants and spectators. <br /> <br />Sponsors arrange to have at least two ambulances stand by at <br />designated locations at the event. <br /> <br />Sponsors arrange for extensive media announcements of the <br />events and the streets to be closed. <br /> <br />Sponsors notify residents living on the streets to be <br />closed or within the closed area. <br /> <br />9. No open flames will be permitted. <br /> <br />All decorations used on floats must be inherently flame <br />retardant, or treated to be so. The treatments used <br />must be of a kind approved by the State Fire Marshal. <br /> <br />All motorized floats shall be equipped with a portable <br />fire extinguisher with a minimum rating of 2A10BC. <br /> <br />An inspection s~all be required of each entrant. Failure <br />to meet minimum fire safety standards will result in the <br />entrant being removed from the parade. <br /> <br /> <br />
