Agricultural <br />preserves may be established, enlarged or diminished, and <br />disestablished, and contracts may be entered into, renewed <br />or non-renewed, and canceled in accordance with the provisions <br />of the Williamson Act, as amended, and these rules and <br />procedures. <br /> <br />I. General Rules <br /> <br />The provisions of the Williamson Act, as it may be <br />amended, shall establish the basic rules and procedures <br />for the implementation of the Williamson Act. Should <br />any locally established rule or procedure established <br />herein conflict with a provision of the Williamson Act <br />now or in the future, the terms of the Act shall apply. <br /> <br />II. Agricultural Preserves <br /> <br />A. Location <br /> <br />Agricultural preserves may be established in <br />those areas shown on the Pleasanton General <br />Plan as: <br /> <br />Open Space - Agriculture and Grazing <br />Open Space - Parks and Recreation <br />Open Space - Public Health and Safety <br />Any other land use category where the <br />area is undeveloped and is found by the <br />City Council to be not needed for the <br />planned use for at least ten (10) years. <br /> <br />Any county-designated agricultural preserve <br />subsequently annexed to Pleasanton shall <br />remain an agricultural preserve regardless of <br />its General Plan designation. <br /> <br />B. Minimum Area <br /> <br />Minimum Preserve area shall be 100 acres. <br />The preserve may compose contiguous properties <br />under separate ownership, or non-contiguous <br />properties under one ownership.
