AGREEMENT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES <br />ASSESSMENT DISTRICT 19826 <br /> <br /> This is an agreement for engineering services between the City <br />of Pleasanton, a municipal corporation of the State of California, re- <br />ferred to as City, and Bissell & Karn, Inc., Civil Engineers, referred <br />to as Engineer. <br /> <br />I. DESIGN PHASE <br /> <br />City retains Engineer to prepare plans, specifications and estimate <br />for a new bridge across the Arroyo del Valle at Valley Avenue. The <br />Engineer shall perform the following services: <br /> <br />1. Prepare plans and specifications for the proposed improvement. <br /> <br />2. Prepare an estimate of the cost of the bridge and related im- <br /> provements. <br /> <br />Attend meetings of City Council, when requested by City staff, for <br />the purpose of presenting and seeking approval of the documents <br />and reports. <br /> <br />Attend all other public meetings of City at which matters relat- <br />ing to the assessment district are consulted, except routine <br />matters. <br /> <br />5. Attend staff meetings or meetings of property owners upon the <br /> request of the City, after reasonable notice. <br /> <br />6. Provide telephone consultation with staff members and property <br /> owners to answer engineering questions. <br /> <br />7. Assist in preparation of change orders as may be required during <br /> the course of construction. <br /> <br />II. CONSTRUCTION PHASE <br /> <br />The Engineer shall perform the following services during the construc- <br />tion phase: <br /> <br />Provide on-site inspection services to insure that project is con- <br />sistent with plans and specifications. Inspection shall be daily <br />when work is in progress and shall be full-time during critical <br />phases of the work, such as reinforcing steel and concrete placement. <br /> <br />2. Keep daily reports of work progress. <br /> <br /> <br />
