The City will provide assistance to agencies organized to protect <br />those rights. <br /> <br />Implementation Program 2: To continue to fund <br />organizations such as ECHO (Eden Council for Hope <br />and Opportunity) which are active in housing <br />discrimination investigation. <br /> <br />In some cases the City may become involved in preliminary investi- <br />gation of discrimination complaints. Experienced housing rights <br />agencies provide valuable resources on which the City may rely. <br /> <br />Implementation Program 3: To investigate the <br />adoption of an anti-discrimination ordinance re- <br />quiring that Pleasanton's rental housing shall be <br />available to families with children and persons of <br />legal majority to the extent required by law. <br /> <br />Because of the growing scarcity of all housing in California, steps <br />should be taken by local agencies to protect equal rights in the <br />housing market for those households against whom discrimination <br />has been traditional. <br /> <br />-39- <br /> <br /> <br />
