Policy 7

...to encourage the placement of manufactured
homes on appropriately located land.

The City of Pleasanton recognizes that manufactured housing may
be a viable alternative through which to address a segment of
Pleasanton's housing needs. Manufactured housing consists of both
mobile homes and modular structures which are, for the most part,
manufactured at an off-site location. These types of homes are
generally less expensive than traditional "stick built" single-
family homes and, therefore, are a type of housing which should
be seriously considered in Pleasanton.

Implementation Program 1: To permit mobile home
parks in certain areas of Pleasanton, and to allow
mobile homes and other factory-built housing on lots
which are determined to be compatible for such use.

Within the categories of land designated by the General Plan as
"High Density" and "Medium Density Residential" there may be several
areas suitable for mobile home park development. The Housing
Element encourages such development where appropriate.

-14-
