Warnick
Director of Public Works
City of Pleasanton
200 Bernal Avenue
Pleasanton, CA 94566

Water Service in East Pleasanton

Dear Bob:

In response to your request, we are pleased to submit this proposal to
provide consulting water system services in connection with providing
water service in East Pleasanton.

BACKGROUND

In January 1983 CDM conducted a study in which two alternative con-
cepts were presented for providing water service to approximately
1,700 acres of land in East Pleasanton. The two concepts were a
reservoir storage system and a hydropneumatic pumping system. The
reservoir storage system was recommended in our report and
subsequently was identified as the preferred alternative by the City
staff.

Two of the land owners in the study area .are Bud Martin and Art
Dunkley. At the August 16 meeting at Ci.ty Hall, at which Bud Martin,
Art Dunkley, Ted Fairfield, Bob Okamura, and you were present, it was
decided that specific pipe, reservoir, and pump station locations and
sizes are needed in order for Dunkley and Martin to determine the
water system improvements for which they will be responsible as part
of their respective subdivisions.

SCOPE OF WORK

To determine the water system improvements for Mutual Land Company
(Dunkley) and Martin, it is necessary to study the entire East
Pleasanton area and not only these two parcels. In view of this need,
CDH proposes to perform the following services for the study area
indicated in Figure 1.

Task I - Review Data

The previous study and work performed in East Pleasanton by CDM will
be reviewed. The recently updated land use and estimated number of
building units prepared by the City for the study area will al so be
reviewed.

SEp j 6 1983
