in presently urbanized areas; improvement of <br />ambient noise levels in residential areas; onsite <br />and offsite streetscape beautification; and other <br />benefits enumerated in project and staff reDorts, <br />public hearings, and applicant presentations; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />this City Council (i) finds that all significant <br />effects have been eliminated or substantially <br />lessened where feasible as shown in Exhibit "A" <br />and (ii) determines that any remaining effects, as <br />summarized above, are acceptable because the <br />economic, social, environmental, and other benefits <br />of the project enumerated above outweigh the <br />unavoidable adverse environmental effects; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />this City Council further finds that the text <br />change to the Growth Management Element clarifies <br />and reconciles the goals and policies of the <br />Growth Management Element; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />PLEASANTON RESOLVES THE FOLLOWING: <br /> <br />Section 1: Finds the recitals contained herein are true and <br /> correct. <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />2: Approves the text change to the Growth Management <br /> Element of the General Plan, Case GP-83-1, as <br /> described in "Exhibit B," attached hereto and made <br /> a part of this case by reference. <br /> <br />Section <br /> <br />3: Adopts as City policy that the feasible mitigation <br /> measures described in the EIR, as appropriate to the <br /> circumstances, be required in conjunction with project <br /> approvals made pursuant to this General Plan amendment. <br /> <br />Section 4: This resolution shall become effective immediately <br /> upon its passage and adoption. <br /> <br />THIS RESOLUTION ADOPTED NOVEMBER 8, 1983 BY THE FOLLOWING VOTE: <br /> <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood and Mayor Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None ~L~~ <br /> TEST: <br /> Walker ~ Clerk <br />By Doris George, Deputy City Clerk <br /> <br />Ae~tter D.
