10: consumptior, ..,,,~iii <br /> and nrojected <br /> <br />1!. <br /> <br />S:~gnificant Effect: increased energy <br />occur as the resuTt of site activities <br />cormnute trips. <br /> <br />Finding: Provisions for reducing automobi]e commuting and <br />encouraging alternative means of transportation will <br />reduce vehicle miles travelled and energy consumption. <br /> <br />Facts: The developers are required to provide for a <br />program of coordinated, alternative transportation systems <br />for employees throughout the site, including vanpooling, <br />carpooling, and alternative work hours. <br /> <br />Finding: incorporation of solar energy measures in building <br />design will reduce energy consumption. <br /> <br />Facts: The utilization of passive and active solar energy <br />measures will be required for all buildings to the maximum <br />extent feasible. <br /> <br />Finding: Economic and social considerations make the <br />reduced scale or "no project" alternatives, which would <br />result in reduced energy consumption, infeasible. <br /> <br />Facts: The scale of the project is necessary in maintaining <br />the marketability of the site in order to provide inereased <br />employment opportunities to the local community and to <br />increase the tax base of the City. <br /> <br />Significant Effect: Water supp].y requirements will exceed <br />existing distribution capacity. <br /> <br />Finding: The required water supply and distribution system <br />facilities will be codstructed in conjunction with develop- <br />ment, mitigating any impact. <br /> <br />Facts: The developers are required to restrict site ,~ <br />development until adequate water supplies facilities an~ <br />long range requirements have Been determined to be adequately <br />achieved, <br /> <br />Finding: Project conditions mitigate potential impacts. <br /> <br />Facts: Building-Dy-building approval process ensures <br />control over capacity; conditions guarantee no gnarantee <br />of sewer capacity is included in the approval. <br /> <br />Finding: Additional capacity would mitigate impacts. <br /> <br />Facts: Expanded facilities are being discussed by <br />many r~sponsible ~gencies; an EIR would be required <br />before any expanszon could be made. <br /> <br />-5- <br /> <br /> <br />
